Motivational Advent Calendar: Door 18 #Motivation

Welcome to your Motivate Me Advent Blog Calendar!

Throughout December, I shall be opening a new advent door on a personal development technique or tip that you might wish to try that day or save for the New Year.

Door Number Eighteen: Motivation

If you won the lottery how long would it take you to collect your winnings? Imagine it now, take a moment to close your eyes and picture you getting all the numbers and being told you’ve just won a life changing sum of money. How does it feel? What would you do with the money?

That’s what motivation is – the reason behind someone’s actions.

How easy was it for you to dream big with the above scenario? I bet you were pretty focused on what you would do with your millions – buy a house, a new car, holiday, etc. It’s that focus that is the key to motivation. Know what you want, and why you want it, then take action to make it happen.

Motivation is the drive that keeps you moving forward until you reach your goal.

What do you want to achieve in 2019? Be honest with yourself and create a goals list that you are passionate about and not what you think you ‘should’ want to do.

  1. Whenever my husband and I fantasise about winning the lottery we always end up rowing! As for the motivation to work, I’m a big believer if writing things down that I want to achieve. Somehow seeing it in black and write makes me feel as though I’ve already started on the tasks.

    1. Preaching to the choir! I do love a good list writing session. I spent two hours yesterday writing out my blog content planner for 2019, seeing it all in pen (and coloured highlighters!) felt great.
